Open Our Circle Wide

Open Our Circle Wide is a hymn of acceptance and inclusiveness. It speaks to God’s love for everyone and calls us to do the same. It is set to the traditional English hymn tune KINGSFOLD.
We open out our circle wide, open our arms in love;
and include all of those around in grace from up above.
God calls to us “Beloved child with whom I am well pleas’d.”
So thus in turn in everyone we see a child in need.
We all deserve a chance to soar, to thrive, to reach, to grow.
We all deserve a place that’s safe, a place that we call home.
We all deserve to have our God seen in our eyes and face;
to be accepted as we are, to know we have a place.
It matters not where you call home, or whom you choose to love,
the language that you choose to speak or the name you use for God.
God welcomes us with open arms, to come just as we are,
and we are called to show Gods love to strangers near and far.
With sinners, lepers, the unclean Jesus sat down to dine.
In parables he taught us how the lost to go and find.
Throughout the Gospels we will find stories to be our guide
in how to love each other by opening our circle wide.
