Come and Dance Now!

Inspired by a sermon on Trinity Sunday, Come and Dance Now! is a call to lean into the Holy Trinity. It is an invitation to embrace the mystery that is God as Three-in-One and instead of wrestling with the idea, enter into a sacred dance. The hymn is set to the hymn tune LAUDA ANIMA by Englishman John Goss (1800-1880).
Three-in-One, they call us to them. Parent, Savior, Spirit, Friend!
Join with them in song and dance and in the sacred mystery!
Come and dance now! Come and dance now, with the Holy Trinity!
In the void and o’er the darkness, before light and life began,
hover’d God the Great Creator, they spoke “Light” and it was freed!
Come and dance now! Come and dance now, with the Holy Trinity!
He who comes, the One that saves us. The Messiah sent to Earth.
Teacher, Rabbi, he has taught us: servants to each other be!
Come and dance now! Come and dance now, with the Holy Trinity!
Pentecost, the Holy Spirit, tongues of flame came down that day!
Calling us, the Church, to service; to the call of ministry!
Come and dance now! Come and dance now, with the Holy Trinity!
Each one is distinct in nature, yet they are as one a whole.
All of us are prone to question, how can this enigma be?
Come and dance now! Come and dance now, with the Holy Trinity!
They have called us to experience life within the sacred dance.
In communion with each other and the blessed Trinity!
Come and dance now! Come and dance now, with the Holy Trinity!
